Frequently Asked Questions

When should a designer be asked into a project?

As soon as possible, because designers help with concepts, programming and space planning.

Can  we do structural changes as well as interior furnishings and decoration?

Yes, as interior architectural designers, we work together with architects and engineers to facilitate the scope of your project.

How do you make your income?

We have two profit centers that work in tandem: Hourly consulting and Purchasing

Are fixed fees possible?

Depending on the character of the job, other methods of payment can be arranged. We also accept major credit cards.

Are initial consultations free?

Yes, we are happy to explore your project with an initial complementary consultation. We prefer to meet at the project site.

Do you design furniture?

Yes, we design custom furniture, kitchens, baths, lighting, art and accessories.

Must all purchases be done by your firm?

No, furnishings can be bought or custom-made by our firm or others of your choice.

Is it less expensive to buy furniture from your firm?

Yes, usually it is. We sell at wholesale cost plus a percentage. Our experience is that time and money can be saved by purchasing and expediting for our clients.

How long do jobs typically take?

Project duration can be determined at the initial consultation. There are many factors to take into  consideration. A room can take three months, a complete remodel can take six months or more.

Can cost be determined before the beginning of a project?

Absolutely. We’ve developed our own unique system to take the guess-work out of interior design budgeting. We are usually accurate within 15% of the total budget.

What is the minimum consultation fee for a consultation-only project?

The minimum consultation fee is hourly  with a $500 minimum.

Can a project be approached in phases?

Yes, we advise to do the master planning  in the beginning, then phase the project to the established budget.

Are there projects that you will not consider doing?

Yes, those that are too ambitious for the funds allowed. Through our experience, we can make an assessment during the initial meeting.
